For most of your day, I stay out of the way and photograph what actually happens. When the light is right or a moment needs a nudge, I step in with a prompt, not a pose. I shoot 35mm and medium format film alongside digital and work with whatever light the day gives me, from soft window light to candlelight to a little flash once the night picks up.
The couples I work with care about thoughtful design and the people they love, and they would rather have fun than chase perfection. Many are getting married far from home and want the whole weekend told honestly, not just the ceremony. I give every wedding my full attention, because for you it only happens once.
I would rather give you one photograph that makes you feel something than ten perfect ones that look like everyone else's. That means a little blur, an imperfect frame of film, and rich, cinematic color. These are the photographs your family will hold onto long after the day, and I do not take that lightly.
After photographing weddings since 2019, I know planning one can feel like a lot, so I work alongside you and your planner months ahead, learn who matters most to you, and build the timeline around the light. On the day, you can stop thinking about photos and simply be with your people.

What I believe
You will receive a first look at your favorites shortly after the wedding, while it all still feels close. Your full gallery follows once every image has been edited by hand and every roll of film has been developed and scanned. Your exact timing is listed in your pricing guide.
How soon will we see our photographs?
Please do. Some of my favorite frames come from couples who say yes to an idea in the moment, whether that is a walk in the rain, a dance in the street or a portrait by candlelight. Bring your ideas, and I will bring a few of my own.
Can we try something unexpected?
Not at all. Portraits are planned around the best light and kept short and intentional, so you are back with your guests quickly. The rest of the day I follow along quietly and photograph what happens while you enjoy it.
Will our wedding day feel like a photoshoot?
You are not alone, and it almost never shows. Most of my couples tell me this on our first call, and by the end of the day they have forgotten all about it. My approach is artistic storytelling. I give you a reason to move, like a slow walk together or a quiet moment close, and then I step back and let the story unfold. The photographs you end up loving most are usually the ones where you forgot I was there.

Always. I partner with your planner on the timeline and the details of each event, so the day runs smoothly and you can simply be present.
Do you work with our wedding planner?
Yes. Welcome parties, rehearsal dinners, the wedding day and the morning after can all be part of your coverage.
Do you photograph the full wedding weekend?
Yes. I am based in Raleigh, North Carolina, and photograph weddings across the East Coast: Charleston, Kiawah, Palmetto Bluff, Miami, Palm Beach, Naples, Richmond, Charlottesville, Washington, D.C., Newport, Nantucket and Cape Cod, plus the occasional tropical destination.
Do you travel for weddings?
Yes. Most of the weekend unfolds naturally, and we plan unhurried portrait time and family photographs with your planner, so nothing important is left to chance.
Will we still get portraits if your style is documentary?
Both. Film and digital are woven together throughout the weekend, so each moment is photographed in the way that suits it best.
