COUPLES SESSION DOWNTOWN RALEIGH, NORTH CAROLINA

Patty and Donny had an amazing couples session in downtown Raleigh, North Carolina.  This is possibly, one of my favorite couple session photoshoots.  This shoot was so carefree, emotional, and told their story so beautifully.  Raleigh is the capitol city of the state of North Carolina.  Known as the “City of Oaks” because of the many oak trees lining the heart of the city. 

Downton Raleigh is a very historic neighborhood with world-class museums and lovely old buildings.  Visit the many southern diners, local shops, and breweries as well.  This city has so many activities to offer you and your family.  We had so much fun in this Downtown location of Raleigh for this couple session.

About the Couple

Patty and Donny naturally interacted together so beautifully no matter where they were. Wherever we wandered Patty and Donny brought the photos to life.  Kissing in front of a large tree with scattered leaves gave this shoot a lovely fall vibe. 

Patty was very city chic in her houndstooth patterned pants, black coat, and cream top.  Donny wore a long light brown coat and black scarf.  Together they looked like they belonged in these romantic and timeless photos.

Whether they were locked in a loving embrace or Donny was swinging Patty around, the mood was always romantic and playful.  The love and laughter were exhilarating, and the filmy vibe was just beautiful.  I ended up making a reel of them from this shoot, set to the song “Teenage Dream.”  I was delighted to see the reel got over 5 million views.  But you can imagine why when you scroll through these stunning portraits.

About the Couples Session

We started the couples session in downtown Raleigh at the Capitol Building.  Patty and Donny made the most of the space they were in.  This included the leafless trees of the square set against the historical backdrop of the Capitol Building.  Completed in 1840, this building is an outstanding example of Greek Revival Architecture.  The old building gave the couple session a timeless and nostalgic vibe.

As we walked around the main square, I was able to include the natural setting of the parks and walkways.  The very classic looking lamppost we found, gave the whole couple’s session a New York city vibe.  The last fall leaves on the trees, the green of the grass combined with this loving couple was just perfect.  I loved the way Patty and Donny were so playful with each other and so natural in front of the camera.

Their only prop of the classic green bicycle was a perfect choice for this fun couples session.  Patty and Donny made the most of walking leisurely along with the bike or riding it together.  When Patty sat on the handlebars, I was able to capture the fun and innocence of their playfulness.  The black and white shots only enhanced the nostalgia of the couples session.

Whether they were running, having fun or kissing, Patty and Donny’s love shone through every photo.  The warmth of their love was really authentic and sweet, depicted beautifully in their smiles and loving looks.  I loved bringing their love-story to life in these couples session portraits.
